Following the Spirit
These past couple weeks have truly plunged us into quite the adventure! It’s interesting how God often leads us to related Scriptures as if He know what lies ahead. Funny how that works, huh! One of my interests in the Scriptures lately revolves around the Spirit’s work of leading in the believer’s life. I am currently reading through a related book on this subject. The title and premise...

New Resource The Believer’s Bookshelf
We often take knowledge, specifically Biblical knowledge for granted. The lack of a passion to learn Biblical truth is an all too often common trait among Christendom. I know we’ve probably all heard this plea before, but I am bringing this up again because it is so very critical. God’s people must get back to a thirst for learning Biblical truth. I’m talking about a deeper level of seek...
Embracing the Waits Keynote
Recently, I was given the opportunity to preach at our home church. Since God has been working on my own heart regarding my waits, this study was a natural pick for me. I pray God can use His awesome Word in your life as well. If it can be of any use, I have included links to 2 file types of the recent Keynote Presentation entitled, "Embracing the Waits in Life." One file type is a movie file of t...
Embracing the Waits in Life
Well, I wanted to share with you some thoughts on some truths God has recently taught me! The subject: the waits in life. We are on this process termed "deputation," where we are seeking ministry partnerships to reach remote Alaska with the Gospel. Notice I called it a process. We praise God for our current 40% level of needed support raised in this past year and we are grateful for that amount in...

A Manifestation of the Gospel
The Church: A Manifestation of the Gospel Today it seems there is no shortage of books on the negative aspects of the church. It should break our hearts to see the sometimes desperate condition of Christ’s church today! One related passage God has directed me to lately is Ephesians 3. Paul writes the believers in Ephesus regarding the awesome Gospel, of which he now boldly declares to ...
Prayer
This year seems to have much discussion revolving around the National Day of Prayer! My attention was recently directed to James 5 and I would like to share these truths with you. I believe the truths regarding prayer in James 5 are really convicting and potentially transforming! James writes his self-named epistle to his fellow Jewish believers, now scattered from the current religious oppres...
The Core Content of Missions
For several weeks now, I have been pondering a particular passage and subject regarding missions. God has shown me much from Romans 8 and I am very excited about sharing it with others. Romans 8 contains some familiar verses, but I think we would all greatly benefit a fresh study of the entire passage. I believe a proper appreciation for the context and message of Romans 8 is absolutely critical...

Our Testimonies:

Hello, Laura and I both had the privilege of being raised in Christian homes. For as long as we can remember, our families have been in church. As a result, God worked on our hearts regarding salvation at rather young ages. While we didn’t know each other yet (Laura was born in Alaska while I was born in Missouri and raised in Illinois), it was at the ages of 6 and 4 that we decided to trust Christ as Savior. After a few years I was baptized at my church. As manyteens do, I also struggled with assurance of my salvation until one day at church God settled it for me. I heard testimonies of others too who had wrestled with assurance, but who had settled the matter before God. God in His Word clearly teaches that we can rest 100% assured of our justified standing before God. It was that day that I did a heart inventory. I knew I was a sinner…I believed what Christ did for me…I was trusting in Him as my Savior. That day I asked God to help me never doubt my salvation again. Guess what? I haven’t doubted it since! Laura continued to grow in her walk with Christ as she was raised in Wasilla, Alaska. Due to a providential job move for her dad, Laura’s family moved to the Chicago area and she began attending the same high school that I attended.

Later in my teen years, God melted my heart for missions through the story of Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, and the others comprising the Auca Five. Although I was scared of public speaking, I knew God was calling me to preach. Throughout all of this God had given me a passion for Alaska and missionary aviation. God had also given Laura a passion for missions and a love for her home state of Alaska. I began dating Laura (my wife) the last month of high school and we then attended the same Bible college (Maranatha Baptist Bible College). While I completed my undergrad in missionary aviation at MBBC, God allowed me to go on several mission trips to Alaska. It was on these remote Alaskan trips that God began giving me a burden for the native peoples of Alaska. After graduating college, Laura and I were married and settled on being church planting missionaries to Alaska.

Since our marriage, Laura and I have been back to Alaska several times and I have completed a Master’s in Biblical Counseling. In 2008 God also blessed us with our first child, Elias. He is definitely a reminder to us of God’s faithfulness and grace! We praise the Lord so much for His grace and goodness in our lives! We can’t wait to serve Him full time in Alaska!
